August 20, 2022 marked the 45th Anniversary of Fatima College Class of 1977.

Guys from Trinidad and Tobago, U.S. and Canada gathered at the Cascadia Hotel in St Anns for a memorable occasion. The evening started at 5 pm with Holy Mass, chief celebrant being Fr. Robert Christo, co-celebrants were Fr. Gregory Augustine, Fr. John Theodore and Deacon Hiliary Bengochea. Fr Robert’s preaching was vibrant and pointed out to class of 1977 of what should be done in order to enter into Heaven which is our ultimate goal. The Tabaquite choir and drummers with their energized and melodious voices added to the Caribbean liveliness of the mass.

The guys enjoyed the cocktail hour after mass to interact with teachers and classmates to reminisce about the years spent at Fatima College.

A sumptuous dinner and a variety of desserts were served along with a well stocked bar, thanks to GM, Barry Bidaisee and his team at Cascadia namely Ravi and Mavis, the trini Rasta lady just to mention a few who did a fantastic job. I highly recommend Cascadia Hotel for any function or gatherings for their excellent package and high level of sanitization.

Several memories were shared by classmates and teachers. Door prizes were won and the evening entertainment began with the vocals of our very own Larry Edghill with his many renditions on the keyboard. Our other colleague, the renowned DJ Rene Ortiz, rolled out his best party music selections and to top things off was the most popular, Gerry Prudent.

The evening ended with the taking of pictures and the singing of the school song, our alma mater. The comradery was so great that the chit chat went on after midnight. Thank God that Cascadia had a coffee and tea station set up. That went nicely with the grog.

Everyone went home with joy, laughter and memories of an evening well spent in the company of each other, bonded together by the spirit of Fatima College, under the leadership of the greatest Principal, the late, Mr Clive Pantin.

The Class of 1977 has a reunion every 5 years which started in 1997. Special thanks to the members of the organizing team who did a remarkable job in making this reunion one of the best.
